“One Free Wedding” is all about couples who work to help others. Every year, in an effort to give back, I offer my photography services to a couple who are dedicated to making their community a better place.
Kelly is a high school teacher in Harlem who works with at risk youth, specifically kids who have been previously incarcerated and Steve works for Homeland Security. Kelly is also a recent cancer survivor. In her email to me she shared part of her and Steve’s story, and to be honest it was both humbling and inspiring. She told me about the journey they had taken together. About Steve’s support and commitment, and about the friends and family who came to her side when they were truly needed most. Kelly described their wedding as ‘a celebration of life and grace and beauty in this world’ and it truly was.
It was amazing to work with Kelly and Steve. To meet their family and friends, their support system, and document them all partying their butts off in utter celebration.
