This past June took me to the sleepy seaside town of Tangalle, in Sri Lanka, for Helen and Keren’s destination wedding. Close family and friends traveled with them from New Zealand and they rented out a beautiful, airy, beach house for the week. When we met face-to-face for the first time it was monsooning, so we talked rain plans while marveling at how awesome this was all going to be anyway because, seriously, Sri Lanka. But on the day of the event, the unpredictability of the season turned out in their favor. So with gorgeous weather everyone celebrated with a steel drum barbecue and dancing. And late into the night when it did start to rain, they capped it off with a midnight swim.
